Shatter-resistant: The acrylic mirror is made of a strong, durable plastic that is less likely to break or shatter than traditional glass mirrors. This makes it a safer option for use in high-traffic areas or in homes with children or pets.
Lightweight: Acrylic Mirror is much lighter than glass, which makes it easier to handle and install. This makes it a great option for applications where weight is a concern, such as in frames or on walls.
Versatile: Acrylic mirrors can be used in a wide range of applications, including home decor, craft projects, and even commercial settings. Its sleek and modern look makes it a great alternative to traditional glass mirrors.
Cost-effective: Acrylic Mirror is typically less expensive than glass, which makes it a more budget-friendly option for creating custom mirrors. It also offers the added benefit of being shatter-resistant, which can save you money on replacement costs in the long run.
Important Notes for Acrylic Mirrors (PLEASE READ):
Acrylic is not as rigid as glass and is therefore prone to minor distortions on larger panels which will optically distort the image. We recommend that the mirror is bonded to a flat rigid back panel such as Plywood or MDF to minimise this effect.
Acrylic mirrors will tend to absorb moisture if exposed to high humidity or damp environments, this will cause a temporary warpage of the material which still distorts the reflection. For damp or outdoor applications, we recommend Aluminium Composite Mirror Panels as they will not absorb moisture.
For large sheet sizes, we recommend polycarbonate mirror as it is much more rigid in larger sizes which reduces optical distortions. In addition, the reflective quality is better than that of standard acrylic.
Outdoor use: Acrylic mirrors (this product) are not suitable for outdoor use. If you’re looking for a mirrored material suitable for outdoor use, please consider our premium aluminium composite mirror as it offers a much better quality of reflection and can withstand external weather conditions.
See-Through Mirrors: For those in search of two-way mirrors, our See-Through Mirror Sheeting is the perfect solution. This specialised product features a mirrored side and a see-through side, offering the versatility you need for various applications. Reflection distortions: Please note that this material is not a substitute for traditional glass mirrors if you require a perfect reflection, it is prone to distortions which may make it unsuitable for your requirements. We also stock a high-performance aluminium composite mirror which offers many of the same benefits as this material, e.g. lightweight, shatterproof, easy to work with, but also less likely to warp and distort.
